Tian Xiaopeng (田晓鹏), born on April 28, 1975 in Beijing, is a Chinese mainland male director and screenwriter. He graduated from Beijing University of Technology.

 

In 1997, he was the production director of the domestic animated movie Journey to the West. In 2001, the restoration of "The Garden of Perfect Brightness" and the 3D animated short film "Lunch" created by him were selected in the China 3D Yearbook. In 2004, the 3D animation movie sample "TURBOBOY" directed by him won the Excellent Award of Animation Sample of Animation Art Committee of China Television Association and the Best 3D Animation Award of China Digital Art Professional Committee. In 2006, his original movie sample "JUNGLE MASTER" won the Excellent Animation Award of China Digital Art Professional Committee. In January 2010, he directed the 3D animation movie "The Adventures of Ant Nest" for Vanke Pavilion of Shanghai World Expo.

 

In July 2015, he wrote and directed the animated film Journey to the West. The film won the Film Channel Media Award at the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival and was nominated for Best Animation at the 52nd Taiwan Golden Horse Awards. The work was nominated for Best Animation at the 52nd Taiwan Golden Horse Awards. It won the Outstanding Feature Film Award at the 16th Chinese Film Huabiao Awards, and the Outstanding Work Award at the 14th Five Projects of Spiritual Civilization Construction. In the same year, he wrote and directed the animated movie "The Monkey King of the Westward Journey". In 2020, he directed the live-action science fiction movie Three Bodies. On January 22, 2023, he wrote and directed the animated film "Deep Sea". The film was selected as a key project of the Beijing Cultural Excellence Project and was shortlisted for the New Generation Film section of the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival.
