In 2008, he directed his first animated short film "Hit, Hit the Big Watermelon". The film was shortlisted for the Best Animated Short Film Award at the 6th China Animation Golden Dragon Award, and won the Special Jury Prize in the International Competition Section of the 26th Berlin International Short Film Festival. He has won more than 30 awards at home and abroad. In 2009, he founded "Diao Keli" animation studio.

 

In 2013, he directed the animated short film The Boss's Woman. On July 26, 2019, the animated film "The Descent of Nezha's Magic Child", which he directed, was released. On August 24, 2020, he was nominated for Director of the Year at the 11th Chinese Film Directors' Association 2019 Annual Commendation Meeting for Na Zha's Descent of the Magic Child. On September 26, 2020, he won the Best Screenwriter Award at the 35th Popular Film Hundred Flowers Awards for Ne Zha's Descent into the World.

 

In January 2020, the official spin-off comic "The Legend of Ao Bian" from the movie "The Descent of Nezha the Magical Child" was made available for pre-order on the Yi Yi Comics App, further complementing the worldview of the movie and telling the story of the dragon clan's feud and Ao Bian's growth.
